Programs and Services Overview

Child and Family Services

The goal of Child and Family Services at The Guidance Center is to provide services for children and families who are in need of mental health support in an easily accessible manner and in a safe, secure, and confidential environment. The services provided span a wide continuum designed to support a family-centered service delivery model that allows children and families to identify the strengths that they can best use to address the challenges they face.

Adult Services

Adult Services serves adults ages 18 and over who are diagnosed with a serious mental illness (SMI) and adults with other mental health diagnoses.

Services offered at Adult Services include:

  • Individual, Group, and Family Counseling
  • Health Promotion
  • Individual and Group Living Skills Training
  • Case Management
  • Mental Health Screening
  • Core Assessments
  • Evaluation and Diagnosis
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services
  • Personal Assistance and Peer Support

Crisis Services

Crisis Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at (928) 527-1899 and at The Guidance Center Inpatient Offices located at 2187 N. Vickey Street. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis please call our

Substance Abuse Services

The Guidance Center provides inpatient and outpatient services for those with a substance abuse or co-occurring disorder (substance abuse and mental illness). The programs at The Guidance Center vary in level of care. From 24-hour stabilization to an Outpatient Program that utilizes the evidence-based Matrix Model to inpatient residential rehabilitation,  whatever the needs, The Guidance Center offers a full range of substance abuse services.

Services include:

  • Stabilization and transition to treatment through the Crisis Stabilization Unit
  • Inpatient services through Residential Rehabilitation program
  • Outpatient, individual, and group counseling
  • Group services for those experiencing problems with mental illness and substance abuse

Psychiatry and Medical Services

The Guidance Center psychiatry and medical services are provided to adults, children, and families. Services includes psychiatric and psychological evaluations; medication and symptom management; among other services. The Medical Department provides limited psychotherapeutic interventions and provides coordination of care with therapy professionals at The Guidance Center, as well as therapists outside of our system.

Pharmacy Services

The Guidance Center partners with QoL meds. QoL meds offers a  full-service, on-site pharmacy specializing in mental health. QoL meds provides individualized one-on-one medication therapy management and prescription counseling services. QoL meds performs comprehensive reviews of all medications to recommend the best possible prescription regimen for each of our consumers.

HealthCare Connect Clinic

HealthCare Connect is a joint project by North Country Healthcare and The Guidance Center. We provide primary health care on-site at The Guidance Center to people who are receiving mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services at The Guidance Center. Through this partnership we strive to close the gap between mental health and primary care, offering easy access to primary care. HealthCare Connect provides a built-in coordination of care that means better communication between your psychiatric team and your medical team.
